I’m not usually one for cross posting. But I had to mention a post that I wrote on my work related blog DEATH TO FILM. You gotta check out the bacon sandwich in the video halfway through the post. That thing was sick and I’m sooo proud of it. BTW, things have been a little light around here as I have been dedicating most of my posting time to writing for DEATH TO FILM. 15 WriteRoom Re-Review: Two Weeks In

After using WriteRoom for two weeks, I am impressed as ever. But for slightly different reasons than I originally spoke of. I don’t really use the full screen option much, instead opting to use multiple light rooms all across my screen. While this goes against the no distraction idea, I use the WriteRooms to organize my many and random thoughts. I have one with post ideas, one with t-shirt design ideas, skateboard design ideas, and articles that I am currently working on. I can bounce back and forth whenever needed. What makes this even better is the auto save function that is built in. So I can add my notes and move on without having to worry about saving those ideas.

14 AtomicZombie Overkill Bicycle Chopper Plans Review

I was browsing the MAKE: Blog a couple days ago and was reminded of this amazing website, AtomicZombie. The guys over at AtomicZombie produce and sell plans on how to build custom one off bicycles. Not only choppers, but trikes, recumbents, and stunt cycles, their stuff is crazy, in a good way. The MAKE post mentioned plans for a new style of chopper, the Overkill. It really is Overkill, and that is what made me purchase the plans. This bike is totally unique, huge rake, MASSIVE rear tire, and what looked like a simple method of construction, that I might actually be able to follow.

13 WriteRoom Review

What is WriteRoom you may ask? Why the most ingenious bit of productive coding that I have seen in awhile. To sum it up, WriteRoom is a text editor, but one with an interesting feature, No Features. Or at least the ability to visually hide all the features. WriteRoom’s holy grail is that by hitting ESC you are presented with a full screen, no frills, writing environment. Just you and the text. No formating tab, no Clippy to murder, just pure text fun. Why you may ask? Well, because distractions are just that, distractions. Remove them from sight, and you can get to the important bit, writing. No IMs, Safari, or Mail to grab my attention. Thankfully it still allows for audio to be played in the background, so I a can still groove to Dr. Octagon while writing this post.

11 Pardon our dust

If you notice some odd behaviours from this site over the next few days, don’t be alarmed. I am adding plugins, tweaking the interface, and streamlining whatever I can. So things may work, work horribly, or not at all. For a little while at least. Please bear with me, thank you =)

10 Back from the dead… Soon that is…

So, as many of you noticed, Protocollon has been dead for awhile. Suffice to say, school and work full time took its toll on my ability to produce podcasts. So… I won’t be podcasting any more. However, I will be blogging. So stay tuned in the next week or so. I am going to be redoing my first two podcasts as blog entries and I will be returning to a weekly or twice weekly format. Thanks to all my supporters and I won’t let ya down =)
